ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ World News is recording a World Debate programme in front of a live audience at the Abu Dhabi Media Summit, 10 March 14.30 GMT. Focusing on the topic β€˜News; who pays in the digital age?’, the debate is being staged as part of the season, which examines how the internet has impacted on the lives of people across the globe.

A panel of international experts and opinion formers is taking part in the debate which will broadcast on ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ World News on Saturday 13 March and Sunday 14 March*. The panellists include:

• Chris Ahearn, President, Reuters Media
• John Miller, CEO of Digital Media, News Corp
• Tony Orsten, Chief Executive Officer, twofour54, Arabic content creation companyΜύ
• Amra Tareen, Founder, AllVoices, online global community website

Zeinab Badawi, presenter of ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ World News’ World News Today, is moderating the debate and will seek to get answers to a series of challenging questions: With a steep drop in advertising revenue how can money be found for journalism? Is charging for online content the solution? Should governments continue to subsidise media industries? Will other business models emerge? Is citizen reporting a threat or an opportunity for journalism? Will the current media revolution make for a better informed world?
