Africa Business Report, Â鶹ԼÅÄ World News’ innovative monthly show dedicated to African enterprise, broadcasts its third show on 24 October 2009*.

The programme, sponsored by Skye Bank, travels the continent to bring viewers the triumphs and the challenges of corporate Africa.
Reports from the October edition include:

GHANA OIL. Ghana's discovery of oil is expected to provide a huge boost for the country's economic fortunes. But will ‘black gold’ benefit everyone? The programme's presenter, Komla Dumor, investigates.

CONNECTED RWANDA. Rwanda has made major strides in recovering from its recent tragic past and its economic progress has drawn international praise. But can the country realise its ambitions to become a high-tech powerhouse? The Â鶹ԼÅÄ's Rory Cellan-Jones meets the professionals shaping the country's IT future – and the youngsters hoping to benefit.

SOUTH AFRICAN WINE. The global downturn has meant tougher times for  winemakers in South Africa who are battling against intensified international competition. The local wine industry is now eyeing up a new market – the so called ‘Black Diamonds’ of South Africa. They’re the emerging black middle classes developing a taste for wine. Mpho Lakaje reports.

Komla Dumor, presenter of Africa Business Report, says: “We’ve travelled across a vast amount of Africa in this episode to help demonstrate the complexity of the continent's business world. It's a privilege for me to visit Ghana, my home country, to dig deeper into how the nation's fortunes are likely to change with the discovery of 'black gold'."
