ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ World News presents the second series of The Real…




This August, ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ World News premiers the second series of the successful travelogue, The Real… Broadcast in association with InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, The Real… is a weekly five-part series which takes viewers on a tour to find the secret haunts and hidden hot spots of Cairo, Milan, Stockholm, Hanoi and San Francisco.

With the help of three knowledgeable, well known local personalities, viewers can expect a tour which bypasses the well trodden tourist paths in favour of individual, underground, offbeat sights which only those β€˜in the know’ could reveal.

San Francisco – broadcast from Saturday 30 August
The first tour guide in the Californian city is Hilton Romanski, Vice President of Global Corporate Development at Cisco Systems. Hilton is joined in the programme by jazz singer Paula West and filmmaker Tiffany Shlain. Sites revealed by the trio include a fantastic surf beach, a Pentecostal church and a wave-activated acoustic sculpture.

Cairo – broadcast from Saturday 6 September
Cairo’s contributors are archaeologist Dr Zahi Hawass, TV and radio host Ahmed El-Esseily and famous bellydancer Randa Kamel. Dr Zahi takes the tour inside the Bent Pyramid, while Ahmed visits a park which used to be a giant rubbish dump, and Randa drops into her favourite bellydance costume emporium.

Stockholm – broadcast from Saturday 13 September
Actress Helena Bergstrom, artist Ernst Billgren and DJ Papa Dee are the guides to the Swedish capital. They disclose favourite haunts including a beautiful spa, an art exhibition housed in a subway station and a record shop.

Hanoi – broadcast from Saturday 20 September
Hanoi hotspots revealed in this episode include a flower market, as shown by performance artist Dao Anh Khanh, a small village that specialises in weaving silk favoured by interior designer Alan Duong, and a cinematheque cafΓ© and DVD club frequented by film director and scriptwriter Nguuyen Manh Ha.

Milan – broadcast from Saturday 27 September
Well connected in the world of Milanese haute couture, Luisa Bezzi begins the tour of Italy’s fashion capital with a visit to Caffe Cucchi, a favourite with the city’s cultural elite. Next Michele Lupi, editor of Italian GQ showcases his barbers shop, Antica Barberia Colla, which has been offering the closest shave in Milan since 1904. Lastly video game designer Fiodor Tonti introduces the trendy Navigli area and in particular a little bar that is close to his heart.
