Local flavours enfuse Farmers Markets

Do you enjoy the flavour of local produce?Μύ

Once a month the afternoon programme visits a different farmers market to find out about the people behind the produce.

Farmers market

At Thames Valley Farmers Markets you will find the very best seasonal produce, meat from rare breed pigs and sheep, local cheeses, interesting and unusual vegetables, mouth-watering bread and pastries mostly produced within a 30 mile radius of the markets.

Patron Sophie Grigson says, β€œThe big advantage of buying local to the shopper is that seasonal produce can be better value in terms of freshness and intensity of flavour.Μύ And you’re far more likely to buy what you need rather than a mountain of alluring packages that just don’t add up to proper meals, thus going to waste at your expense.”

These things don't make it to the stalls by themselves, and ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Oxford's Jo Thoenes is on a mission to discover all about the people who work hard to bring a tasty morsel to our plates.

Farmers market

Probably one of the most important aspects of farmers markets is the fact that the produce they sell is seasonal, something we see less and less of in a day and age where we can get what we want when we want it.Μύ So to top it all off there will also be down-to-earth recipes to tickle your tastebuds!Μύ
