URIplay allows content to be assigned unique and persistent urls. These urls are derived from a number of sources – the /programmes ontology, Youtube APIS, and Channel 4 VOD schemas. This provides a way of addressing media directly, using the same URL on different platforms embedding URLs in web pages which then stay persistent, and for services to be built on top of the URIplay system which take advantage of its featureset.
