Are you up for the challenge?

For Sport Relief 2008 Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio York is asking you to challenge yourself, your family, your friends or your colleagues to do something sporty and raise cash at the same time. Events are being held in York and Scarborough.

Last Sport Relief saw David Walliams swim the English Channel in just 10Β½ hours, while 12 brave stars learnt to show-jump for 'Only Fools on Horses'. Take a lead from their example and challenge yourself, your family, friends and colleagues to do something sporty and raise cash at the same time.

The ultimate challenge is doing the Sport Relief Mile where hundreds of thousands of people across the country will take to the streets and go the distance.

The whole of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ will be behind Sport Relief 2008 too - delivering brilliant entertainment across TV, radio and online.

With so much planned, Sport Relief 2008 is all set to be a real winner.

Scarborough

The Scarborough Seafront Mile starts and finishes near the location of the Old Corner Cafe on the North Bay. The fun starts at 10am and finishes at 1pm.

There will be food stalls and cafe bars open along the seafront and there will be a group warm up before the event.

York

The University of York campus (campus south) is the venue for the York Sport Relief mile. Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio York's Julia Lewis will be starting and taking part in the mile. She'll read the the news at 11am live from the event, then run. Then she'll read the news at midday - let's hope she's not out of breath.

Julia will be joined by Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio York's Kirsty-Lou Watson.

The run starts at 11am and York City Football club should be there to lend support.
