First memory:Ìý Being on holiday in Scarborough when I was about 2 or 3 years old. It’s a bit jumbled, but I remember a huge staircase where we were staying, and also eating an ice cream which had lumps of ice in and wasn’t particularly nice!

First record bought : Bit too embarrassing to admit I’m afraid! But I was a big fan of this person at the time!

First job:Ìý I worked in a newsagents/grocers in York for a summer as a shop assistant. This led to a Saturday job in a little newsagents kiosk that was on the corner of Spurriergate and High Ousegate. I hated it! You got in to the kiosk by crawling in under the counter on your hands and knees, and in winter it was like working outside for 8 hours a day as there was no heating and a constantly open serving hatch!

Little known fact about yourself:Ìý I’m scared of heights! It was so little known that I didn’t know myself until I tried climbing to the top of York Minster recently!

Favourite place in the world:Ìý Put me anywhere near a coastline and I’m usually happy.ÌýÌý

Favourite place in North Yorkshire:Ìý York, because its my home town and Scarborough because its by the sea!ÌýÌýÌý

Any pet hates:Ìý Untidiness and people with bad attitudes to everything!ÌýÌýÌýÌý

What would your desert island luxury be:Ìý Probably a radio so I could keep in touch with what’s going on in the outside world!Ìý

Most embarrassing radio moment:Ìý There’s probably been a few but none I’m willing to own up to! The one I can remember was having a singing lesson for the Afternoon Show a few years ago – one lesson with my singing voice just wasn’t enough to make it pleasant! Makes me cringe thinking about it.ÌýÌý

Best radio moment : Doing commentary at Old Trafford for the Super League Grand Final in 2001. They’ve got red carpet in the press box there! Nearer home, it was reporting on the York City Knights promotion parade in 2005. There was so much emotion on both days for different reasons and it was brilliant to be part of it.Ìý

Who would be your dream co-presenter:Ìý That’s a hard question! Anyone with a sense of humour would do!Ìý

If you weren’t a broadcaster what would you be:Ìý Probably some sort of office worker or doing a job which would involve rugby league somewhere!

Describe your programme in one sentence:Ìý I can do it in one word…Sport!
