Derrick Murray

"I just looked to the left in time to see my father go over the wall...the immediate thought that came to my mind was...my father can't swim."

The Story

Most young boys hold their fathers in high regard; when Derrick Murray saw his father risk his own life to save the life of another, his dad became an even bigger hero in Derrick's eyes.

The story continues...

Derrick spent most of his working life as a fireman. He served through most of the dark days of the 'troubles' in N.I. When he was 70 years old he did a sky-dive from 13,000 feet in order to raise money for the widows of firemen and also for childrens' cancer research.
