Festival review...
Sonar, Barcelona - Day Two
The great thing about Sonar apart from the music, the people and the weather is that everything is just so easy. We haven't seen a queue since we got here such is the high standard of organisation that goes into putting one of the world's most respected electronic arts festivals on. On Friday we hang about the Professional Area of Sonar By Day which is a place where just about anyone involved in the music business from DJ's to promoters and record labels can gain access with a view to maybe doing a bit of networking with like-minded souls. It's a goldmine of connectivity where we see Sonar headliners such as Richie Hawtin, Dave Clarke and Matthew Dear all just hanging around in between speaking to the media and talking shop.

There's a big Northern Ireland contingent present this year, which has increased year on year since the first festival way back in 1994. It's one of those places where if you've been once, you'll go back to again. Sonar's growth in reputation has been directly proportional to it's growth in size over the years, yet the underlying production values have never been compromised, it's a festival lovers festival. ΜύWe check out what could only be described as Μύthe Spanish Scissor Sisters tribute band during the day who light up the main stage with their faux-cheesy funk and soul. We check out the 5.1 Surround Sound piece in Sonar Cinema before getting some rest and preparing for Sonar By Night.
