Bridge Fall

By Tom Chappell-Doughty, 13, from Northampton.

I walk this road
rain pouring down on my god forsaken head.
eyeliner smudged
gel in my eyes,
cant see.

I never smile anymore,
never crack a laugh,
my life not worth living.
I'm wondering
whether i should jump when i get there.

I get to the the bridge,
cars streaming past,
a mugging across the road,
cant be asked to help,
i look down, such a long way down.

i change my mind, jump i will not.

my foot slips,
both my feet fall,
i slip under the railings.
i grab the bars, my hands slip,
never have i been so bloody scared.

the ground is getting closer,
a 250ft drop, soon i will be dead
and everybody i know
shall be forgot.
