The Flood

By AJ Wright from Northampton.

It's dashing down again with rain,
from soft to hard on the window pane,
the noises it can make,
the gardens turn into a lake,
soft an slow, as it starts to flow,
then fast an furiously fierce,
thunder rumbles an eardrums pierce,
it strikes an it crashes,
sounding angrier as it clashes,
60 seconds to a hour,
sometimes it'll take out your power,
sirens sound for the flood alerts,
emergency services are on red alerts,
up an down in there boats,
visibly wearing fluorescent coats,
looking out for elderly or the weaker,
talking out loud on a tannoy speaker,
the river has rose an broke it's bank,
cars were floating before they sank,
the disaster you see as day is dawning,
insurances go up from that morning.
