The Lucky Day!!!!

By Charlotte Barnell, 11, from Northampton.

You will never believe what happened to me last week. I still can't believe it happened myself...........

It all began two jam-packed days ago, when I was casually sitting on the carpet-layered stairs when our golden letterbox flung swiftly open. There, on our multicoloured rug was a brown envelope with my name on. I rambled as fast as a gorgeous, silky leopard down our worn out stairs and pounced vigorously on the brown, (to me special) letter.

I slid my small bony finger down the seal and pulled (with all my might) it opened. I had won! A once in a lifetime opportunity. I, Chloe Trout, was going to meet the greatest person ever. JOHNNY DEPP! This was to happen, on the 16th of June. I felt so proud and excited. My face beamed with shock and awe.

So the next day, (which was sensational and hot) I got dressed, ordered mum to take me to the studioÌýand lastly had my bowl of (quite yummy) Cheerios. When we arrived (about two hours later) at the magnificent studio I wondered secretively in and then I saw him. Johnny Depp. I saw him acting out the Pirates OfÌýThe Caribbean and it was amazing. When I was tiptoeing (as quiet as a mouse) around the stage I saw the paper. There was my name in pure black and white. I felt proud but still amazed.

All of a sudden, a puff of smoke occurred from out of nowhere and the colossal stage had crumbled to miniscule pieces. At this point, I feared the worst and dreaded what happened. There was a trapdoor and the rope had managed to hook itself onto Johnny's worn out shoe which he had worn previously. He dramatically fell and the trapdoor swung closed again. Nobody knew except me. What shouldÌýI do?

In the end, I managed to confront my conscience and to tell someone. I sprinted as fast as my little legs would carry me until I went BUMP! Into somebody. By the time I had explained, the black thick smoke had cleared and the camera man (who I had told) ventured up the gigantual, teeming pile of rubble. He peered helplessly down the hole and saw Johnny Depp in distress. Johnny, who wasn't very pleased as you can imagine, had twisted his very valuable ankle. Three weeks cancelled. No more acting.

Bombshell!! But that didn't stop me feeling proud of myself. It was the best (but most terrifying) day of my life!!! I had saved him.
