Red Relief

By Susannah Rose by Northampton.

Long sleeves in the middle of summer
Thick black tights in the blazing heat
No-one understands what I'm hiding
It's only coz they think I'm wrong

The crimson calms me, soothes me
Blood is my power, my orbital strength
I see it and I'm calm, in control
For nothing else in life I can deal with

I'm so glad she never saw it
Coz it would make my mother cry
I'm so glad he doesn't see it
Coz it would make my daddy cry

Society says I'm deviant
But for once I have control
We all deal with life how we can
This is my hypothesis, sir

Those help-lines show I care but
Full of old women who don't understand
Just wear jeans, that's all
Can I never be intimate like others?

He'll say something, he'll complain
He hasn't seen me through it all
He didn't see me close to death
Grim Reaper is lost on him, I'm afraid

People still don't understand us
But we don't understand them
The pain is temporary, the scars heal
So we are able to deal with the world

I'm so glad she never saw it
Coz it would make my other cry
I'm so glad he doesn't see it
Coz it would make my daddy cry.
