England rugby star Dan Hipkiss returned to his former rugby club in Diss on Sunday, 2 December, to give a coaching masterclass to junior players.
Help playing audio/video The Norfolk club is the only one he has represented aside from Leicester Tigers, where he currently plays as a centre in the Guinness Premiership. Diss Rugby club president Jimmy Butler was delighted to be welcoming back their famous former player. "He agreed to come along and remember where his grassroots were and come back and support us," he said. Dan meets tomorrow's rugby stars in Diss "He has reached the big time. There's no higher game he could ever play in than a Rugby World Cup final. "To play for your country is one thing, but to play in a World Cup Final as well is unbelievably good," he added. Hipkiss came on in the second-half of the World Cup Final defeat against South Africa back in October. He was identified by his coaches Les Moir and John Horslen as an 'outstanding talent', when he was in his early teens.
