Lisa Redford concert

One of the county's most promising singer-songwriters, Lisa Redford, is to headline a charity concert brimming with local talent. The performance is being hosted by Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Norfolk at Norwich Playhouse on Thursday 13 April, 2006.

Norwich singer-songwriter Lisa Redford is heading home as part of her European tour to perform at a charity gig.

The concert at Norwich Playhouse is one of just three Norfolk shows the talented songstress is playing, among dates in Amsterdam, Manchester and Cardiff.

Her brand of acoustic-based folk has won her airplay from Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 2's Bob Harris programme and the title track from her latest album, Lost Again, has been play-listed on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Norfolk, which is hosting the spring gig.

The show will raise money for The Samaritans, which relies on donations from the public and local businesses to run its helpline for people in distress.

Lisa's wistful lyrics wrapped in a delicate delivery are sure to strike a chord with the audience and is one of the reasons why station organisers picked her to headline.

"Having interviewed Lisa many times on the afternoon show, it's really exciting to be involved with her for this live concert," said Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Norfolk acting editor Graham Barnard.

"It is backing such a worthy cause and everyone who hears her loves her," he added.

The bill will also boast the ear-catching pop-rock melodies of Josh Weller And The Availables.

As one of Norfolk's most talented young bands, their foot-stomping songs were heard by music legend Sir George Martin, when they opened a London awards bash last year.

Station regulars duo Chris Ellis and Celeste Lovick will also entertain the audience with their Celtic-tinged folk.

The concert will be recorded by Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Norfolk to be broadcast later in the year.

Lisa Redford In Concert with special guests will take place on Thursday 13 April at Norwich Playhouse, St George's Street. Tel: 01603 612 580.

Tickets are Β£10 from the Norwich Theatre Royal box office on 01603 598 598. Doors open at 7.30pm, for the 8pm show.
