GB's Sky Brown has won bronze in the women's park skateboarding, matching the medal she won three years ago in Tokyo.

Australia's Arisa Trew, aged 14, took gold and Japan's Kokona Hiraki's came in second place with silver.

The top eight best female skateboarders in the world took part in a nail-biting final.

Sky is the youngest GB athlete to win two Olympic medals.

The 16-year-old, who won bronze at the Tokyo Games at just 13 years old, suffered a dislocation injury a day before she travelled to Paris.

Earlier in the day she fell during the preliminaries and was seen clutching her shoulder.

But she overcame her injury to put on a phenomenal show and claim an Olympic medal.

After a strong first run which she scored 80.57 and placed fourth, Sky Brown bought it back in the second run with a score of 91.660 and 92.31 in the third run.

Japan's Kokona Hiraki, who won the silver medal in Tokyo and led the prelims, got silver after leading for the first two runs.

But it was Australia's Arisa Trew, 14, who stumbled in her first run but managed to turn the tables scoring 93.18 in her third run to skate to gold.

After the event, Sky said: "I feel like this made my story. I felt the adrenaline and was just hyped up. I didn't even think about it.

"This journey has been crazy with lots of downs but lots of ups.

"Since Tokyo I have learned a lot. I was one spot away from qualifying for the surfing. It made me stronger. I am super stoked. I wasn’t even sure I was going to make it here."
