It's time to grab your recorder, drums and guitar because it's World Music Day.

On 21 June people mark World Music Day - it's a day to celebrate, learn about, and try out all things musical.

The special day was started by French Minister of Culture Jack Lang in 1982, and has since become a global celebration of music, celebrated in more than 120 countries around the world.

Its aim is to bring people of all ages, backgrounds, and musical styles together to enjoy and take part in music.

Lots of schools take part in the celebrations with special lessons.
