The Brit Awards are one of the UK's biggest music award ceremonies.

This year's event will take place on Saturday 2 March at the O2 Arena in London, and will see music stars gather together for a night full of epic performances and, as always, lots of awards.

Some big changes to the 2024 awards were announced at the end of last year, with the expansion of the 'best artist' and 'international artist of the year' categories and a brand new award for the best R&B act.

Dua Lipa is the first artist to be confirmed to perform on the night of the glamorous ceremony.

There's lots to look forward to ahead of the big day, but who's in the running for an award this time around? Read on to find out.

This year, singer Raye tops the list as the most nominated artist. She's up for awards in seven categories, which is a new record for one artist in a single year. Her nominations include one for artist of the year, album of the year and best new artist.

"As far as the industry was concerned, I was down and out," Raye said about her nominations. "Never in my wildest dreams would I think that trying again would mean seven Brit nominations!"

Rapper J Hus has also received several nominations this year. Here's in the running for artist of the year, album of the year and song of the year for his track featuring Drake and best hip-hop/grime/rap act.

Meanwhile, rapper Little Simz is up for the big album of the year gong. She received two other nominations for artist of the year and best hip-hop/grime/rap act.

The international artist of the year category has a number of big hitters, including Miley Cyrus, whose song 'Flowers' was the most streamed on Spotify worldwide last year, Olivia Rodrigo, SZA, Taylor Swift, who was Spotify's most streamed artist in 2023, and Burna Boy.

The Brits' newest category, best R&B act, will sit alongside the existing categories for alternative/rock, dance, pop and hip-hop/grime/rap. Cleo Sol, Jorja Smith, Mahalia, Raye and Sault have all been nominated for the title.
