Mobile phone ban: How one restaurant is trying to encourage families to talk

Do you think phones and tablets should be allowed during family mealtimes?

In a trial scheme, the restaurant chain Frankie & Benny's is getting parents (and children) to hand over their devices to the restaurant staff and in return will get free children's meals.

This comes after a survey by the restaurant revealed that children want parents to spend less time on their phones and more time talking to them.

One in 10 felt their parents preferred going on their phones than talking to them, and many admitted to hiding their handsets in a bid to get attention.

What do you think about this? Do you think phone and tablets should be banned during mealtimes both at home and in restaurants? Do the adults in your family spend too much time on their phones or do they accuse you of being on your device too much?
