The Brigadier penguin and other animals with surprising titles

Sir Nils Olav, a king penguin, has been given the new title of Brigadier Sir Nils Olav in a special ceremony at Edinburgh Zoo. The Brigadier penguin is an honorary member of the King of Norway's Guard, and the ceremony was attended by more than 50 Norwegian soldiers from the unit. During the ceremony, Sir Nils paraded along the row of soldiers to inspect them.
Meet Duke. He's just been re-elected for the third time as mayor of the town of Cormorant, in the US state of Minnesota. Duke won his first victory in 2014 and by all accounts has been a paw-some mayor!
Lance Corporal Cruachan IV might be a little pony but in the Royal Regiment of Scotland he's the mane man. He's their mascot and comes along to lots of ceremonial events - even meeting the Queen.
Tama the cat was the feline station master at Kishi station in the city of Kinokawa, Japan, for nearly 10 years. She was so popular that she was eventually promoted to the role of super station master!
Fusilier Llywelyn might only look like a kid, but he's actually a regimental goat in the Royal Welsh Regiment. He lives at the regiment's base at Lucknow Barracks, Wiltshire, and accompanies them on ceremonial duties.
