Girls Aloud were formed just over ten years ago when Nicola, Nadine, Sarah, Cheryl and Kimberley won an ITV talent show called Popstars The Rivals.

Girls Aloud have just finished a glitzy and glamorous arena tour - but it wasn't always that way! This photo from 2002 shows the girls performing in public for the ever first time, at a night club in London.

Their first single - Sound Of The Underground - topped the chart for Christmas 2002, selling more than 653,000 copies in the UK.

The girls enjoyed a successful seven years together, clocking up hit after hit! They had twenty top 10 hits in a row and sold more than 4.3 million records. The Official Charts Company have named the band the UK's biggest-selling girl group of the 21st Century!

The group won Best Single at the Brit Awards 2009 for The Promise - but in July announced they were taking a break from Girls Aloud to pursue solo projects. The break ended up lasting three years!

During the group's break, Cheryl released three albums and topped the charts with three singles! She appeared as an X Factor judge for three series before a short stint as a judge on the US version of the show.

Kimberley starred in West End production of Shrek before competing in the 2012 series of Strictly Come Dancing. She reached the final with dance partner Pasha Kovalev.

Sarah Harding enjoyed success as an actress starring in films, including St Trinian's 2. She worked with Girls Aloud's hitmakers Xenomania to record some songs for the film.

Nicola released her own makeup range, presented a Â鶹ԼÅÄ documentary about tanning and recorded her own album, Cinderella's Eyes.

After spending some time in the United States, Nadine released a solo album too. She signed a record deal with a leading supermarket chain and released her album Insatiable in 2010.

In 2012, the group reunited and released the official Children In Need single called Something New. The song reached number 2 in the charts. The girls also announced a special album of all their greatest hits.
