Wrexham river turns green due to local industry pollution

The waterway turned a lurid shade of green after the polluted discharge got in

A tributary of the River Clywedog turned a vivid shade of green after discharge from local industry polluted it.

The source of the unusual colour in the waterway in Johnstown, Wrexham county, was traced back to a business on a nearby industrial estate on Tuesday.

Natural Resources Wales said officers had now stopped the discharge.

The agency said it was continuing to work with the site to ensure environmental compliance.
