Llansanffraid village to have 't' back in its name

An eight-year row over the spelling of a Powys village has led to the council reinstating the "t" in its name.
Llansanffraid-ym-Mechain was spelled Llansantffraid from the 1800s until Powys council dropped the "t" in 2008, saying it was correcting a mistake.
Montgomeryshire MP Glyn Davies welcomed the decision and said "common sense has finally prevailed".
The council's cabinet executive decided on Tuesday the "t" will return to the village's name.
Powys council originally changed the spelling as it said a mistake was made in the mid-1800s when Llansantffraid - named after the female Celtic Saint Brigit - wrongly described her as a man.
Dropping the "t" from the name correctly identified her as a woman, said the authority.
The decision sparked a row in the village, and two years later more than 70 villagers agreed in a survey that the "t" should be restored, with only three opposing.
Mr Davies said: "Almost every person that I spoke with was in favour of reinstating the t."
