Mouswald Primary earmarked for closure in July

A primary school in Dumfries and Galloway which is attended by just two pupils is likely to close in July.

Mouswald Primary near Dumfries is the second school local council officials have recommended for closure in the last two months.

St Peter's Roman Catholic Primary in Dalbeattie is also earmarked to shut.

Dumfries and Galloway Council officers have recommended that children from Mouswald attend nearby Collin Primary School.

They said parents, staff and members of the community accepted the proposed closure at a consultation meeting.
