Highland Council proposes 300 job losses over two years

  • Published

Highland councillors are to debate a range of cuts designed to help save £18m, including shedding 300 jobs over two years.

Under the proposals, 80 education staff and 22 management posts could go.

Support for people with learning difficulties could be reduced, some public toilets closed and street cleaning cut back.

The cuts will be discussed at a meeting next Thursday.
