Storm Erik hits Scotland with 70mph gusts and power cuts
Gusts of more than 70mph have been recorded as Storm Erik swept through Scotland.
The Met Office had warned that high winds and persistent heavy rain would continue into Saturday.
In Dumfries and Galloway, winds of 74mph were recorded, with gusts between 40 and 50mph affecting many other parts.
The Met Office warnings were in force until 15:00 on Saturday.
Police Scotland had advised drivers to show extra caution across much of the country, including Highland, Angus, Aberdeenshire, Moray, Perth and Kinross, Stirlingshire, and Argyll and Bute.
Delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport were experienced on Friday, with some disruption to ferry services also seen on Saturday.
