Police have released images of a stash of weapons found hidden in a hedge in County Armagh last year.

They were in a "constructed hide" on agricultural land, according to police.

The haul included a telescopic sight and magazines compatible with some of the guns that were recovered.

The list of weapons comprised of five revolvers, two Glock pistols, two shotguns and one AR-15 assault rifle, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) detailed.

"Forensic enquiries are ongoing and therefore it isn't, at this stage, possible to attribute the weapons to a particular group or organisation," the PSNI said.

"While we must keep an open mind about the origins of the weapons, there's no doubt that this haul is significant and had the potential to seriously harm or kill.

"The discovery and seizure is a welcome step in disrupting criminal activity and preventing potential loss of life."

Anyone with information about the seizure is asked to call police or the independent charity Crimestoppers.
