Patrick Joseph Clarke admitted sexually assaulting a woman
Patrick Joseph Clarke, 40, an independent councillor for Newry and Mourne, has admitted sexually assaulting a woman.
At Downpatrick Magistrates Court on Monday, he pleaded guilty to the assault on 23 December 2014.
A lawyer said Clarke would not be prosecuted on a second charge against the victim on the same date.
He was released on continuing bail pending sentencing which is scheduled for October.
