Boy charged over 16-year-old's stabbing in Wellington

A 17-year-old boy has been charged over the stabbing of a younger boy in Shropshire.

The injured 16-year-old was taken to hospital after being stabbed during disorder in Wellington, Telford, on 6 March, West Mercia Police said.

The accused appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates' Court on Saturday charged with possession of a knife and wounding with intent.

The boy, who cannot be named due to his age, was released on conditional bail.

He is next due to appear before Telford Magistrates' Court on Wednesday 20 March.
