Two people have been arrested after police seized suspected crack cocaine from a home in Nottinghamshire.

Officers raided the property in Queen's Court, Newark, at about 07:20 GMT on Tuesday.

Inside they found the suspected drugs, weighing scales and other equipment associated with drug dealing.

A 28-year-old man and a woman aged 38 were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class A drug.

The man was also arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon in a private place after officers also discovered an extendable baton.

PC Richard Hodgman, from Nottinghamshire Police, said: "I would encourage people to continue to contact us if they have any information about drug dealing in their neighbourhood.

"Your information could be a vital missing piece of the jigsaw which allows officers to take positive action."
