Southall stabbing: Murder probe after boy, 16, dies

A murder investigation has been launched after a boy was stabbed to death in west London.

Officers were called to Raleigh Road, Hounslow, at 21:00 GMT on Wednesday, where they a found a 16-year-old boy with stab wounds. He died at the scene a short time later.

His family has been informed. No arrests have been made.

The boy is the 28th teenager to be killed in London this year. The most recorded in one year was 29 in 2008.

A post-mortem examination will be carried out on the victim in due course, the Met said.

Detectives appealed for local residents to check doorbell, dashcam or CCTV footage.

Ch Supt Sean Wilson said the community was "understandably shocked" and extra officers would be deployed throughout the boroughs of Ealing, Hounslow and Hillingdon.

He added: "A team of specialist detectives are already working at pace to find out who was responsible for this attack.

"I would urge anyone with information that could assist them to get in contact as soon as possible."
