Bird strike forces Jet2 plane into emergency landing

A Jet2 aircraft bound for Lanzarote had to perform an emergency landing after a suspected bird strike.
Flight LS217 took off from Leeds Bradford Airport this morning but was diverted to Manchester shortly after "as a precautionary measure".
The airline confirmed that the plane had landed safely and had "taxied to stand as normal".
A Jet2 spokesperson said customers were being transferred onto a replacement aircraft to continue their journey.
