Three people have been arrested after fighting broke out in a McDonald's.

The incident happened shortly after 17:45 BST on Tuesday in the restaurant on Westgate Street in Gloucester.

It is believed the two rival groups involved were known to each other, Gloucestershire Police said.

Two 15-year-olds have been arrested on suspicion of affray and carrying an offensive weapon. A third teenager was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence.

Two teenagers were inside the restaurant when they were approached by a group of three youths from outside, a police spokesperson said.

They added that CCTV footage indicates that the teenagers involved were carrying knives and bats.

After the altercation, both groups ran from the scene before police arrived. At this time, no injuries have been reported.

The force is keen to hear from anyone who may have been injured in the incident who has not yet come forward to seek medical help.

Officers are also appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
