A £3m energy centre, which will provide power for a business estate and a new town in east Devon, has been completed.

The building will provide heat and hot water for the Skypark business estate and the town of Cranbrook, near Exeter.

E.ON, which manages the centre, said between five and 10 jobs would be created when it opened.

A company spokesman said it would start to provide energy for the business park and town and electricity for the national grid in spring 2013.

Cranbrook is part of the East Devon Growth Point plan by Devon County Council, East Devon District Council, Exeter City Council and the Â鶹ԼÅÄs and Community Agency.

A new science park, a hotel and a terminal at Exeter Airport, will be built nearby.
