Exeter M5 bridge wins national construction award

The Redhayes Bridge cost £3.75m
A bridge that crosses the M5 in Devon has been given a national award for its design and construction.
The Redhayes Bridge, near Junction 29, has won a British Construction Industry Award.
The bridge for pedestrians and cyclists opened in July and cost £3.75m. It links Exeter and a new science park, which is under construction.
Devon County Council won the award for the project in the local authority category.
The council's cabinet member for highways and transportation, Stuart Hughes, said: "This is an incredible achievement and we're honoured to receive such a high profile award.
"It was designed with the intention of creating a striking landmark," he added.
The bridge will provide a route to the proposed town of Cranbrook, its 2,900 homes as well as schools and shops.
