A dumper truck crashed into a bridge when it was driven underneath with its tipper raised up, police believe.

The back section of the HGV became separated from the cab below the A14 in Cambridgeshire at about 13:30 BST.

Pictures show the truck bed - used to carry dumps for construction projects - resting against the bridge on the A1198 at Godmanchester.

Police, who have closed the road, said "it would appear the tipper was up on the approach".

The driver of the Mick George construction company tipper sustained minor injuries.

Mick George tweeted to say the company was "looking to deal with this in an efficient manner, as quickly as possible".
