Bedford sexual assault at The Embankment prompts police patrols
Police are seeking witnesses after a woman was sexually assaulted on Monday morning.
A man carried out the attack at 00:30 BST on The Embankment in Bedford, Bedfordshire police said.
Officers said they had increased their presence in the area and would be conducting high visibility patrols.
Det Ch Insp Michelle Lack, from the police's rape and serious sexual offences team, appealed for witnesses, especially those with dashcam footage.
She said: "We are appealing to anyone who was in this area, either on foot or travelling in a vehicle with a dash camera that may have captured something to get in touch as this could support our investigation".
