Nope - we've not used the wrong photo, Jar Jar Binks is one of the suggestions

People on Twitter have been suggesting candidates they would rather have as the UK's ambassador to the US than Nigel Farage.

It's after America's President-elect, Donald Trump, UKIP's leader would do a "great job".

Downing Street, though, says it's irrelevant - because the role isn't up for grabs.

Nonetheless, Twitter users have been weighing in with alternative suggestions.

Here are a few of our favourites.

Lots of people have gone for recognisable faces from TV and film, starting with everyone's favourite Star Wars character.

Chrissi made a suggestion for hardcore Simpsons fans.

The official David Brent movie account got involved too.

This might hurt your brain a bit, but Caity tweeted that there's only one man "to get the job done".

There's also a nomination fans of the X Factor will enjoy.

Comedian David Schneider referenced an infamous Â鶹ԼÅÄ news blunder - the time business studies graduate Guy Goma was mistaken for a technology expert and interviewed live on TV.

And sticking with Â鶹ԼÅÄ news for a second.

Other people kept things closer to home, and put a good word in on behalf of their own pets.

Finally, there were those whose suggestions were a bit more abstract.
