Amy Winehouse's father Mitch has said his plans to launch a foundation in his daughter's name have been delayed for the time being.

He said it's because the name 'The Amy Winehouse Foundation' has been registered by someone else.

"Somebody else pinched it off of us before we could get it registered," Mr Winehouse said.

"All these donations which are coming in - we don't know what to do with them at the moment."

Mitch Winehouse explained that he has having to "hold off" on his plans "for the time being".

But he insisted it would still happen: "The plan is to help all children - not just rehabilitation, not just substance abuse. It's to help all children in need."

Amy's father had announced his plans to set up a foundation in his daughter's name at the singer's funeral in London on 27 July.

"If you cannot afford a private rehabilitation clinic, there is a two-year waiting list for help," he said at the time.

He added that the 27-year-old had "conquered" her drug addiction before her death but had been "trying hard to deal with her drinking".

Mr Winehouse was speaking outside the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Office in central London (18 August) where he was meeting government officials where he was urging them to "reallocate" funding for young people dealing with addiction.

An inquest into Winehouse's death was opened and adjourned until 26 October.

The toxicology tests to determine the cause of the London singer's death were expected to be published within four weeks of her death.

She was found dead at her home in north London on 24 July.
