The government's promising super fast broadband for every community across the UK by 2015.

Most of it will be provided by private companies but there'll also be some publicly funded digital hubs in mainly rural areas.

£830 million is how much the government says needs spending on the hubs with the money coming from the �鶹Լ�� licence fee.

Trials are set to take place alongside ones already lined up in places like North Yorkshire, Herefordshire and the Highlands and Islands.

Ministers are hoping the plan will give the UK Europe's best broadband network within five years.

It's a good idea in theory but are we actually going to get the 'super high' broadband speeds that they will promise?

I'm pretty sure most people across the UK spend money paying for broadband speeds that they don't get.

Is this just a stunt to put public confidence back in the use of licence fees?

Using a standard ADSL line I'm still only getting about 2mb.

We've already got halfway through turning Bournemouth into Europe's first fibre city, with fibre-optic broadband lines available free to every household, so I don't see what the difference will be with the government's new version of this.

And those of you moaning about how YOUR licence fee payment is paying for something you don't use can go back to reading The Daily Mail and whinging about the state of Britain.
