Rihanna to make her movie debut in Battleship film

Rihanna is currently on tour in the US supporting her fourth studio album
Rihanna has signed up for her first major film role, according to respected Hollywood trade magazine Variety.
She will star in Battleship, a sci-fi naval action film based on a Hasbro board game.
The film will feature battles over seas, skies and on land but there are no details yet on what Rihanna's role will be.
Taylor Kitsch, who played Gambit in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, stars as a naval officer leading the fight and True Blood's Alexander Skarsgard will play his brother.
It's due out in cinemas in May 2012.
