Kieron and Emily say they're proud to have been chosen for the show

The pair will be starring alongside celebrities like EastEnders actress Daniella Westbrook, Boyzone star Mikey Graham and Paul McCartney's ex Heather Mills in the ice-skating competition.

But it seems the duo are more excited about meeting the show's hosts, Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, than anything else.

Emily said: "We keep going round looking at all these celebrities, looking really star-struck - like Philip and Holly. Hello?"

Kieron added: "We made eye contact with them before and had to look at the ground straight away, like, 'Jesus, they're looking at us'.

'Least famous'

"Me and Emily are really proud that we got chosen because we're nobodies. I'm probably the least famous person in Hollyoaks and we're just like, 'Oh my god, we're doing Dancing On Ice'."

Despite being among the younger members of the show, the duo are still paranoid about being voted out in week one.

Emily said: "People think the young totty of the show is going to be good.

"I've just got this horrible theory I'm going to go out first week... I wake up screaming in the night about it in hot sweats."

Other contenders who could give them a run for their money are Coronation Street's Danny Young, Hayley Tamaddon who played Del Dingle in Emmerdale and Gary Lucy from The Bill.

Cast interest

Kieron admits the pressure is on to do well after his Hollyoaks co-star Ricky Whittle came runner-up in this year's Strictly Come Dancing.

He said: "I feel like every time I go to work now I'm on Question Time because it's, 'What are you wearing? What's your costume like? What's your routine? What's the song like? Lift me!'

Spice Girl Emma Bunton replaces outgoing judge Ruthie Henshall

"Every single question's about Dancing On Ice which then makes me think they've got this expectation about it and I'm going to be a big let down."

This year sees a bit of a shake-up in the judging panel line-up, with former Spice Girl Emma Bunton joining the show.

It's something Kieron admits he's very excited about and says he's such a big fan of Emma's he doesn't even mind if she criticises him.

He said: "I love the Spice Girls. I'm so excited. I can't stop speaking about Emma Bunton. I love her.

"When we were younger - I'm not ashamed to admit this - we used to buy the little postcards for £1 in the shop and put them in the book and if you got a signed autographed one you were doing really well. So I will be telling her about those."

Meanwhile Emily revealed she has a slight crush on Emma's fellow judge Jason Gardiner, who's renowned for his cutting comments.

"He's just really good looking. I like his honesty," she said.

"My opinion will probably completely change when he's being vile to me but I'll fancy him up until then. I'll wait until he insults me and I'll see how I feel then."
