    Some of the motorbikes were damaged after being knocked over while parked in Les Canichers, St Peter Port.

    Guernsey Police said the damage happened between 17:00 on Saturday and 08:00 on Sunday and has urged witnesses to come forward on 725111 or CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111.

    The new Catholic Dean of Guernsey has been appointed by the Bishop of Portsmouth. Father Bruce Barnes takes over from Canon Michael Hore who stepped down from the role officially last month.

    The Bishop of Portsmouth, Phil Egan, made the announcement as part of which members of the clergy have been given new roles as of September.

    Father Robert Stewart will join father Barnes as his Assistant Priest.

    A group representing island charities is to give more than £290,000 to 11 of its members.

    Every year, the Association of Jersey Charities gets the local share of profits from the Channel Islands' Lottery. Its members can then apply for lump sums of up to £50,000 if they can prove the money will benefit people in Jersey.

    The association has more than 300 member charities, ranging from branches of national charities to small local charities, clubs, societies and support groups.

    Awards include £50,000 to NSPCC Jersey towards a project that helps children rebuild their lives after being sexual abused.

    The Dean of Jersey wants to change laws that govern the island's church so that it could be controlled by a female bishop.

    In the UK, Anglican Canon Law was changed in 2014 to approve the appointment of women bishops but still do not allow it.

    The Very Reverend Mike Kierle (pictured) said now the had come into being, he hoped Jersey's laws can soon be redrafted.

    Jersey's and Guernsey's water companies have pledged support and resources to each other in the event of an emergency as part of a new formal agreement.

    In the agreement, Guernsey Water and Jersey Water said they both recognised that they both had a vast amount of knowledge and expertise to share across the islands, from water catchment, treatment and storage, to customer service and staff well-being.

    The utilities also agreed to meet at least twice a year in order to develop both businesses through sharing knowledge and experience, as well as pledging support and resources to each other in the event of an emergency.

    The agreement was signed by Guernsey Water general manager Steve Langlois and Jersey Water chief executive officer Helier Smith.
