A project investigating the living costs of Guernsey households has surveyed 2,300 people of all ages.
More than 1,000 households took part in the Household Expenditure Survey, which is now closed.
Helen Walton, States of Guernsey head of data and analysis, said due to the "sheer volume" of data it would take some time to process and they were aiming to publish the results in mid-2020.
She said: "We’ve had a huge range of responses from super savers to big spenders and everything in between.
"This reflects the diversity in our population and will give a really rich picture of the variety in spending patterns, which will be used to update the retail price inflation indices and ensure they remain representative."

A Guernsey man who suffered life-threatening injuries after an accident less than two years ago has finished second in an international Ultracycling race in Italy.
Paul Jackson suffered a brain haemorrhage when he came off his bike in August 2017.
On Saturday, he finished second in the Race Across Italy, a 700km cycle across the country, which included more than 10,000m of climbing.
Paul, who broke the Guernsey 24-hour record in 2015, says cycling has been a crucial part of his recovery.

Islanders are being asked for their views on how much Jersey's politicians are paid.
At the moment, States members are paid £46,600 a year.
That figure is set until 2022, but the States Members Remuneration Review Body, which advises on politicians' pay, to consult on whether that should change after the next election.
Earlier this year, Jersey's Assistant Education Minister Deputy Jeremy Macon called for the Review Body to be sacked, claiming it didn't fully understand what States Members do.
But its chairman said he will ignore any inappropriate lobbying from politicians on the issue.

Boat owners in Jersey are being warned about the risks of fire and carbon monoxide poisoning on their vessels.
Jersey Fire and Rescue Service (JFRS) to highlight the simple measures people can follow to reduce the risks.
In the last two decades, 60 people have lost their lives as a result of fire or carbon monoxide poisoning on boats in the UK and Channel Islands.
Image source, JFRSCrew Commander Phil Falle, who leads on boat safety for JFRS, said: “Good boat maintenance will reduce the risks dramatically but it’s still essential that fire and carbon monoxide detection alarms are fitted, checked and maintained, as well as serviceable fire extinguishers."
Margaret Jeffery, who lost her husband Ken to carbon monoxide poisoning on their boat in February, said he would still be alive if a detector had been fitted.

Although Ken was a highly trained and very experienced sailor, carbon monoxide poisoning was not something he had ever considered. Had carbon monoxide detectors been publicised at that time I am certain he would have fitted one and would still be alive today. I hope that sharing this story may prevent others from experiencing the heartbreak and sadness his daughter and I are going through."
