Friday night will be chilly but dry with some lengthy clear periods as well as occasional cloud.

The gentle to moderate easterly wind will make it feel rather cool for April.

The first legal humanist marriage has taken place on Jersey, just over a year after the island passed a law to give legal recognition of humanist marriages.
The ceremony comes after a four-year campaign by Humanists UK and its member, States of Jersey Deputy Louise Doublet, to bring about legal recognition of humanist marriages and same-sex marriages.
Jersey humanist wedding celebrant Gill Hayes, who conducted the ceremony for the local couple, said the couple did not want to be named but had chosen a humanist ceremony specifically because of its personal and bespoke nature.
"The couple are extremely private and wanted their wedding to reflect that," she said.
Humanist marriages have legal recognition in Scotland, Ireland, Jersey, and Northern Ireland but not yet in England, Guernsey or Wales.

Image source, States of JerseyA Jersey deputy is hopeful restrictions placed on Fort Regent could be relaxed soon.
Large events have been cancelled at the venue after concerns were raised about the number of emergency exits, signs, marshalling and lighting.
No more than 1,170 people are allowed to use the site at any one time.
Deputy Hugh Raymond has been overseeing a review of the facilities at the Fort and said it needed to reopen as soon as possible if Jersey want to keep bringing people in.
Constable John Le Bailly is defending his view that certain jobs are not suitable for women.

A member of Jersey's business body says he does not understand why the States is looking for someone to promote the island's identity.
Ads for the role, which has a salary of nearly £60,000, said it would help develop a plan to promote and nurture the island's culture.
But Ben Shenton, from the Institute of Directors, said the job details were vague, and there were people already in place who did such work.
"I really have no idea what this person is going to do," he said.

A call for ideas for a new school name by the States of Guernsey has received more than 600 responses so far.
The Committee for Education, Sport and Culture launched the initiative on 2 April requesting suggestions for the name of the new 11 to 18 school and its two colleges.
Some of the school name suggestions include Bailiwick School, Guernsey School, L’Academie de Guernesiaise and Sarnia School.
The college name suggestions include Admiral James de Saumarez, Casquets, Marjorie Ozanne and Victor Hugo.
The committee is calling on more people to get involved by submitting their ideas online or in writing before midnight on 21 April.
A final decision will be made before of the end of this academic year.
The independent lifeboat service was set up after a dispute between the RNLI and a former crew.

Image source, FacebookThe Jersey Lifeboat Association (JLA) is ready to respond to emergencies at sea, after Jersey Coastguard granted it official status.
Officials will now consider the JLA alongside the RNLI when deciding who to send to search and rescue missions.
Harbourmaster Bill Sadler says the JLA's boat, policies and crew have met the standard required by the UK's Maritime and Coastguard Agency's Rescue Boat Code.
The independent lifeboat service was set up following a dispute between the RNLI and the former St Helier crew, which led to volunteers being stood down in 2017.

The temporary parking area at Guernsey's Princess Elizabeth Hospital will be for staff only.
From next week, work will begin on 81 staff spaces, which will be added near the hospital's Oberlands entrance.
The work is expected to take a few months to complete.
Jan Coleman, the director of hospital modernisation, said mangers hoped to relocate spaces for visitors closer to the entrance.

A Jersey engineer says Constable John Le Bailly should be suspended over comments he made about women in the building trade.
In an interview on Â鶹ԼÅÄ Jersey, the constable said it's more suitable for women to have time off to have children as he wouldn't expect to see them in certain roles.
Summer Boulter, a local security engineer, said she was almost bullied out of her job in a traditionally male-dominated industry.
