Most of Thursday's front pages touch on Donald Trump facing his third and most serious set of criminal charges. The former US president is due in a courtroom in Washington after being accused of plotting to overturn the result of the last presidential election.

Several papers also feature Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife Sophie after the couple announced their separation after 18 years of marriage.

Elsewhere, the Financial Times says the government will - once again - from the EU. Measures were due to come into force in October, but the paper says ministers fear the additional bureaucracy would increase costs when they are trying to cut inflation.
