Two injured as car hits motorway slip road traffic lights

Two people were seriously injured when a car hit traffic lights on a motorway slip road, police have said.

Greater Manchester Police said an Audi A3 crashed into lights as it left the M60 at Junction 22 in Oldham at about 04:00 BST.

The force said six people were in the car at the time, two of whom were "currently receiving treatment for what is believed to be serious injuries".

Appealing for information, Det Con Rachael Stafford said officers were working to "understand fully what has happened".

She added that the force was "especially" interested in speaking to anyone who had dashcam or CCTV footage from properties" which was "recording at the time".
