A tunnel on the A3 in Surrey has re-opened after a "technology issue" caused it to close, prompting about two miles of tailbacks.

On Thursday morning, the Hindhead Tunnel was closed in both directions but has since re-opened.

National Highways said: "Our contractors are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible."

The closure caused traffic queues of about two miles northbound heading into Grayshott.
