A woman and two children have been taken to hospital after a suspected arson attack, police said.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) is investigating the incident, which happened on Dean Brook Close in Moston, Manchester, at about 21:45 BST on Wednesday.

All residents of the house were safely evacuated, with a woman and two children taken to hospital and treated for smoke inhalation, police said.

"Police believe this to be an arson incident. No arrests have been made and our investigation is ongoing," a GMP spokesperson said.

Two dogs were also rescued from the property and people in neighbouring properties were evacuated as a precaution, police added.

The Â鶹ԼÅÄ has approached Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service.
