A man caught with cannabis and a knife less than three months after being found with them for a first time has been jailed.
Bradley Mills was pursued by officers when he failed to stop for them and drove the moped he was riding illegally through trees and into a stream.
The 21-year-old, of Mather Road, Oxford, was trapped underneath the vehicle while in the stream, and was later found with the cannabis and knife when searched in the city on Tuesday.
He was jailed for 10 months at Oxford Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
Mills admitted failing to stop, careless driving, driving without insurance and driving without a licence.
He also pleaded guilty to having a knife and cannabis, which were found in a bag.
Mills was given a suspended jail term after he was found with cannabis and another knife on 21 May in Burchester Avenue, also in Oxford.
PC Matt Stansfield, of Thames Valley Police, said: "He has shown a flagrant disregard for road safety and the law, and the fact he was already on a suspended prison sentence for earlier offences shows that he also had no regard for the justice system as well.
"I am pleased he has been given an immediate custodial sentence as a result of his behaviour, and I hope he uses the time in prison to reflect on his actions."
